Soul Surfer (2011)

Rated PG

The real life story of Bethany Hamilton, a teen surfer, who recovers from a shark attack and losing her arm.

This isn’t as cheesy as other “Christian films” but it did have some issues with writing and acting at times. My favorite character throughout the film was Hawaii. It’s beautiful and she showed herself off throughout the film. It’s inspiring and shows a truthful walk with the Lord, which isn’t overly dramatized. The screen with the shark attack was brilliantly done. It brought out the shock and horror of the moment; it was almost like a Jaws moment. Brilliantly done. It’s worth a watch.
