The Hunger Games (2012) Rated PG-13

In the future under a totalitarian government, teenagers must fight for their lives in the televised Hunger Games. Starring Stanley Tucci, Wes Bentley, Jennifer Lawrence, Liam Hemsworth, Elizabeth Banks, Josh Hutcherson, Woody Harrelson, Toby Jones, Lenny Kravitz, Donald Sutherland

The Hunger Games is based on the book series by Suzanne Collins. I haven’t read any of the books, so my review is based only on the film.

This film is as entertaining as a film can be. The only thing I didn’t get that wasn’t explained was the three-fingered salute. I wish they would have explained that but I was something I could easily look up.  It would have also been great if they explained why they choose children for the hunger games. I just figure it had to do with overpopulation. So, that part of the film didn’t bother me as much as it does others. It’s a fake world and it was wonderful to imagination.
