Based on the play The Jeweller’s Shop written by Pope John Paul II. The play takes a look at three couples, who have ideas and expectations of love and marriage. Starring Burt Lancaster, Daniel Olbrychski, Ben Cross, Melora Hardin, Jonathan Crombie
Although this is a good look at love and marriage. I felt it didn’t do the play justice. I clearly had problems seeing the christian love that Karol Wojtyła wanted to portray in the film. I just felt empty and confused throughout the film. The actor’s were all amazing in the film. I don’t feel that they lacked in their performances. I would say check out this film and let me know what you think of it.
I’ve also included another review from Decent Films website. This review goes farther into what Pope John Paul II was trying to portray in his play.
