Ripper Street (BBCAmerica) Rated NR

Ripper StreetRipper Street takes place 6 months after the last Jack the Ripper murder and we follow the Detectives as they investigate the other deaths in Whitechapel. Starring Matthew Macfadyen, Jerome Flynn, Adam Rothenberg

I was a little disappointed in this show. I was so looking forward to it. I’ve enjoyed Whitechapel, which is a modern take to this show. Both start with a copycat to the Ripper and then moved other cases. I felt disconnected to the characters of Ripper Street. I also didn’t like the unsureness of whether these are good guys or bad guys. It’s very much like Boardwalk Empire with the line between good and bad. Although, Ripper Street has something that Boardwalk Empire does not and that is bad writing. I wish Ripper Street had better writing and more of a connection with characters. Of coarse, I’ll still continue watching, it intrigues me still.
