The Christmas Spirit (2013) Rated NR

Christmas SpiritA journalist sets out to save her small town from a real estate developer, who wants to transform the downtown to bring retail to the town, until an accident changes everything. Starring Nicollette Sheridan, Sammi Hanratty, Olympia Dukakis, Bart Johnson

I think someone has said that it is getting rather tiresome that every year Christmas movies are made to remind us what the true meaning of Christmas is. Like we forget every year and need reminded each season. This is one of those films. It’s tiresome to be reminded what matters during the Christmas season. Of course, it’s sweet and sugary but it also has the been there done that feeling to it. This isn’t a film I would say don’t watch but if you like Hallmark films then check it out you might enjoy it.

Okay, how is it possible for a town to have a stoplight that shows green in all directions at once? And everyone knows about it. The light has been malfunctioning for a long time, but as one of characters remarks, “We can’t afford to fix it.” Then how about deactivating it? I realize you have to accept a lot of implausible stuff in movies like this. I’n okay with spirits emerging from comatose bodies but that stoplight thing is going too far.
