47 Ronin (2013) Rated PG-13

47 roninA band of samurai set out to avenge the death of their master from a shogun. Based on the true story of the 47 Ronin. Starring Keanu Reeves, Hiroyuki Sanada, Ko Shibasaki

The filmmakers take the historical story of 47 Ronin and decide to make it a fantasy. Thus, is one of the many things I dislike about Hollywood and filmmakers, they take history and decide to have fun with it. Having said that, the film is fast paced and has great action scenes as well as CGI. I wouldn’t say this is a bad film it just fell flat. I was bored out of my mind as the film went from action to action without expanding on the story. The love story should have been expanded on as the story really lacks between action scenes. Other than that I would say this is an ok film and worth a watch if you like samurai films.
