Lone Survivor (2013) Rated R

lone survivor

Based on the true events of the mission Operation Red Wings to go after Taliban leader Ahmad Shah. Based on the book, Lone Survivor by Marcus Luttrell. Starring Mark Wahlberg, Taylor Kitsch, Emile Hirsch, Ben Foster, Eric Bana

To me, this film is right up there as one of the best war films. I liken it to Saving Private Ryan, Band of Brothers, and The Pacific. It shocked me into the realization of what our troops go through and how much our country does to get these troops trained for these missions. Of course, this film isn’t completely accurate in the historical sense. There are something’s that they added to make it intense, like, the gunfight between the Taliban and the villagers, also, Luttrell, the Lone Survivor couldn’t walk in the end but that doesn’t subtract from what our soldiers go through in war. This is a must see. It’s worth a watch.
