Murder She Baked: A Chocolate Chip Cookie Mystery (2015) Rated NR

Murder she baked chocolate chipHannah Swensen runs a small bakery shop in small-town Minnesota. However, she becomes an amateur sleuth when her friend and delivery driver ends up dead behind her shop. Based on the book by Joanne Fluke. Starring Alison Sweeney, Cameron Mathison, Lisa Durupt

I’ve always wanted to read one of Fluke’s tasty, fluffy mysteries. A Chocolate Chip Cookie Mystery is Fluke’s first novel with Swensen as the title character. Giving the rights to Hallmark was the perfect move for this series. Hallmark did right by the book, although some readers may be surprised that Swenson isn’t a redhead in the movie. That didn’t put me off, though, because  Alison Sweeney, who plays Swenson, has the perfect mixture of caring, strength, and tartness for the role. Cameron Mathison, who plays the detective, was also the perfect counterpart for Swenson. I’m looking forward to the next mystery they both have to solve. This is worth a watch.
