War Horse (2011) Rated PG-13

War HorseAlbert’s horse is sold to the cavalry during World War I. In order to find and reclaim his horse, Albert must join the cavalry too. Based on the children’s book, War Horse by Michael Morpurgo. Starring Jeremy Irvine, Peter Mullan, Emily Watson, Tom Hiddleston, Benedict Cumberbatch, Liam Cunningham.

Told from the perspective of the horse, we see the war in all its gore and glory.  Spielberg is a master storyteller, and War Horse is no exception.  Without skimping on the war scenes, this film definitely leans more tn the emotional side of the story, tugging at our heart-strings.  You will need some tissues to get through this one.  It is worth every sniffle, though; this is a great film- a must watch.
