Shame (2011) Rated NC-17

ShameBrandon has his sexual addiction under control until his sister comes to stay. Starring Michael Fassbender, Lucy Walters, Mari-Ange Ramirez, Carey Mulligan.

All the talk during the 2011-2012 award season, as Shame racked up the awards, wasn’t about how good the film was.  Rather it was all about how naked Fassbender was.  That should tell you something about this film.  This movie was devoid of anything good or worthwhile, bordering on pornography, something the main character definitely struggled with as part of his depraved condition.  I have yet to see an honest and redeeming  portrayal of sexual addiction.  I strongly discourage people from watching this dark, gritty, depressing film.
