A divorced woman takes a trip around the world to find herself. Based on the book by Elizabeth Gilbert. Starring Julia Roberts, I. Gusti Ayu Puspawati, Hadi Subiyanto, Billy Crudup, Viola Davis, James Franco, Javier Bardem, Richard Jenkins.
Eh, this film was mildly satisfying. It felt long and slow at times, but I did think that they did a reasonable job representing Gilbert’s year of exploration. I especially appreciated how Gilbert learned to love herself through her travel experiences. Also, the cinematography was gorgeous. Overall, I wasn’t too impressed, but for the stunning views and the positive message, I would say it is worth a watch.
