A man-child uncle takes care of his brother’s kids. Based on the film, Uncle Buck (1989). Starring Mike Epps, James Lesure, Iman Benson, Sayeed Shahidi, Aalyrah Caldwell, Nia Long.
I loved the movie Uncle Buck with the inimitable actor/comedian John Candy, who is greatly missed. Epps is no comparison, but he does okay. I definitely saw some growth in his character within the first episode (too much to build on, though?). Long is the most enjoyable to watch as the mom trying to do it all while her brother-in-law is supposedly taking care of the kids. Even the dad seems to have trouble managing them. It’s not a bad show, but its predecessor was so good, it’s hard for me to be sold on it. Still, it’s worth a peek. I’d be curious to hear your thoughts.
