2016: Obama’s America (2012) Rated PG

2016-obamas-americaA documentary that talks about where America would be if Barack Obama wins a second term. Based on the book, The Roots of Obama’s Rage by Dinesh D’Souza. Starring  Jay Bastian, Joe Biden, Cait Brasel, Dinesh D’Souza.

D’Souza uses the similarities between himself and Obama to analyze how Obama’s past has shaped his decisions and policies. This is nothing new; we all face our present reality through the lens of our past.  However, what D’Souza does is he brings those influences from Barack’s past to the forefront of this documentary. There’s no way to know for sure if any of those influences had a direct impact on Barack’s decision-making, but they do inform us as to why he does what he does.  I was very impressed by this documentary. Having first watched it in 2013, I am curious to view it again in the light of the last four years of his Presidency.  It is worth a watch.
