10 Years (2011) Rated PG-13

A group of friends get together for their high school reunion and realize they all haven’t grown up after 10 years. Starring Channing Tatum, Jenna Dewan Tatum, Justin Long, Max Minghella, Oscar Isaac,  Chris Pratt.

This film was fun to watch, but it lacked depth. The film takes place over 24 hours, where we get to see the guys at the reunion and in the hours following. There are the common themes of identity and perception, rekindling relationships, and revisiting memories. These should all lend themselves to greater character development than we see in this film, which only touches the surface of the guys’ lives. There is no real growth or resolution to their issues, which makes it kind of pointless. This film is a pass.
