The Emissary: A Biblical Epic (1997) Rated NR

The story follows Saul, an angry zealot as he transforms into Paul the apostle. Starring Garry Cooper, Leon Lissek, Kermit Christman

I was not overly impressed with this film. Although it does tell the story of Paul’s conversion and the subsequent conflicts which followed, the film only runs 51 minutes. That tells you how much detail that goes into a life that was about 32 years between Paul’s conversion and death. There just isn’t enough depth; the film only glosses over his life and doesn’t delve into any of the details. Also, I wasn’t very impressed with Garry Cooper. He is a fine actor, but he just failed to bring his character to life for me. This film wasn’t worth a watch.
