The 1851 story of boy and his friend, a runaway slave, as they sail down the Mississippi in search of freedom and adventure. Based on the book by Mark Twain. Starring Tony Randall, Archie Moore, Eddie Hodges.
This film doesn’t do the book justice, but I still enjoyed it. The actors were all great, but the film does jump around and even add scenes that weren’t in the book. There is also the matter of musical numbers, which were too long and out-of-place, making them hard to watch. It was still fun to watch, but the rearrangement of scenes was enough to make this movie a pass.
