Drinks, Crime and Prohibition (Smithsonian) Rated TV-PG

A miniseries highlights the pros and cons of the American Prohibition. Starring Branford Parker.

I thought this miniseries did a fine job taking on the different parts of the American Prohibition and explaining the reasons behind it. The series covers the fight on both sides – the dry side against the wet. It also looks at the changes that took place in America during the Prohibition such as crime rates going up, disrespect for the law, and the prison system. Even the culture changed during those thirteen years. The 18th Amendment was the first amendment to restrict people’s rights rather than expand on them. The series showcases everything about the Prohibition era and is worth a watch.
