The drug war across the Mexican border has escalated to terrorists crossing the border. To fight them, FBI agent Matt Graver reteams with mercurial Alejandro. Starring Benicio Del Toro, Josh Brolin, and Isabela Moner.
This film has the same taste that the first one except that the script isn’t as tight. There’s a lot of information left unsaid – information that tells the story of what you are watching. It’s as if the filmmakers leave this out and expect viewers to read between the lines. It also has a lot of unrealistic scenes just because the filmmakers wanted to leave it open for another film. Brolin and Del Toro are both great. The story does pull you in, but really – what were they trying to tell us? I’m not sure. The suspense was there – but again, why do we need to sit at the edge of our seat? This film is not worth a watch.
