Out of the Furnace (2013) Rated R

Rodney Baze has disappeared, and law enforcement is slow to act, so his brother takes things into his own hands. Starring Woody Harrelson, Dendrie Taylor, and Carl Ciarfalio.

This film starts as an action film, but I have to say it moved rather slow for action. I almost fell asleep during the movie. To make it worse, the movie leans toward sad and depressing plots with a spattering of violence. The writing isn’t perfect, and there are plot holes. Although the cinematography is beautifully done, it shows the worst in America. The actors are great, but there’s nothing that pulls you into the story or makes you feel anything except detachment. This film is not worth a watch.
