King of Thieves (2018) Rated R

A group of aging crooks pulls off the biggest heist in their career until greed overtakes them. Starring Michael Caine, Charlie Cox, and Michael Gambon.

The film is based on the true story of the Hatton Garden burglary. It’s slow going with a weak script, and there isn’t much action – it’s mostly dialogue between the characters. Of course, the real heist was probably just as thrilling as the movie. In the film, the preparation of the heist is uneventful, the heist is uneventful, and even the ending where the characters fall apart isn’t that eventful. The film just seems like it doesn’t know if it wanted to be an action film or character-driven drama. This movie isn’t worth a watch.
