Robin Hood (2018) Rated PG-13

A crusader and his Moorish commander revolt against a corrupt monarchy. Starring Taron Egerton, Jamie Foxx, and Ben Mendelsohn.

This isn’t the Robin Hood that you remember. The filmmakers take leeway with the story of Robin Hood. I get that they want to make the film different than before, but they run into the problem that the story is known by everyone and making it different doesn’t make the story better. The script is lacking as well – it just doesn’t flow, and then you have Egerton saying some cheesy bit statement. The movie has a mixture of old and new film techniques. The chemistry between the actors doesn’t jive well. Overall, it just lacks the compelling story of Robin Hood. This film is not worth a watch.
