Little House on the Prairie (NBC) Rated TV-PG

The life and adventures of the Ingalls family in Walnut Grove, MN. Based on the books by Laura Ingalls Wilder. Starring Melissa Gilbert, Michael Landon, and Karen Grassle.

The only parts of this show that are based on Wilder’s books are the characters and the setting of Walnut Grove, Minnesota. Nothing else is based on the books. I’m not saying this is a bad show – I love it. I love that the family loves and works together, even with all the mistakes they go through. The series does cover a lot of adult themes over the years, but it comes down to a family that loves each other and tries to work things out for the best. The show highlights faith, family, and humanity in every episode. This is one show that the whole family would enjoy, even with the adult themes. This is worth a watch.
