A retelling of Hamlet that provides Ophelia’s side of the story. Starring Naomi Watts, Daisy Ridley, and Clive Owen.
This film is definitely a retelling of Hamlet. It’s not your typical Shakespearean story. In this telling, Ophelia isn’t crazy and weak. Here, she is smart and strong and doesn’t depend on the men. It’s not Shakespeare’s story. The film tells a beautiful story; the acting is brilliant, and the cinematography is beautifully shot. This film expands on the story. It’s a film that beautifully reimagines Shakespeare, and since I’m not really a Shakespeare fan, it pulled me in enough to say it’s worth a watch.
