Gone Girl (2014) Rated R

When a wife disappears, the media focus surrounds her husband, wondering whether or not he is innocent. Based on the book by Gillian Flynn. Starring Ben Affleck, Rosamund Pike, and Neil Patrick Harris.

This is a wonderful adaptation of the book. It’s a brilliant thriller. We watch the media circus around the husband of a missing woman as the world argues about whether or not he is innocent. It’s also a story about how we never know what happens behind closed doors in a marriage. The acting was brilliant; Affleck really shows off his chops, and Harris is his usual self in his role. Then you have Pike, who is no longer the demure Jane Bennet in this adaptation. This film takes you on twists and turns and to places that you never thought it would go. This is a film worth a watch.
