A modern day spin on the book by Jane Austen, Pride and Prejudice. Elizabeth Scott is trying to find direction in her life while she has an opportunity to show her dog in a New York dog show. Starring Cindy Busby, Ryan Paevey, and Elizabeth McLaughlin.
This film is definitely not Pride and Prejudice, and the characters are definitely not Mr. Darcy or Elizabeth Bennett. This movie has no resemblance to Jane Austen’s work. First, Elizabeth falls in love with Mr. Darcy at first sight, which is not the Austen Elizabeth. Plus, she is the one always gawking at him and not the other way around. Additionally, Mr. Darcy definitely doesn’t have the airs about him that make him prideful. I’m at a loss as to how this is even remotely taken from Pride and Prejudice because all it has is the character names. You can make Pride and Prejudice modern without losing the story; try Bridget Jones’s Diary or The Lizzie Bennet Diaries. This film just didn’t make me fall in love with the story, and I questioned the point of the story throughout the film. It’s not worth a watch.
