The Big Year (2011) Rated PG

Two bird enthusiasts compete for the world record of bird spotting. Based on the book The Big Year: A Tale of Man, Nature and Fowl Obsession by Mark Obmascik. Starring John Cleese, Jack Black, and Zahf Paroo.

This film is special. I mean, who could make a film about bird watching and make it a comedy? This film is it. It’s a slow comedy that brings some laughs but doesn’t leave a mark. The film is mostly about friendship and following your dreams. The comedy, for the most part, is clean, and the actors all have amazing chemistry with each other. The film dives into the lives of the three main characters and their search for rare birds. It’s an interesting film and fun watch, but it can be long and boring due to the subject matter. This makes the film not worth a watch.
