Robin and Marian (1976) Rated PG

Robin Hood returns from The Crusades and tries to woo Marian back. Starring Sean Connery, Audrey Hepburn, and Robert Shaw.

Robin Hood and Maid Marian are hitting middle age, and the weight of the years are upon them. The script is supposed to be funny, but the jokes fall flat. However, it is fun to watch the conversations between characters as they reminisce about the past. The casting is brilliant; Sean Connery plays Robin Hood, and at a second glance, he is a great gruff Robin Hood. Audrey Hepburn is wonderful, classic, serene Maid Marian. Their chemistry together is just wonderful to watch. The cinematography is beautiful, and the costumes are wonderful. What it lacks is direction as to whether it’s a comedy or not. It’s an interesting film and fun to watch, but not worth the watch.
