Eileen Franklin remembers twenty years after the murder of her best friend that she witnessed the crime. Starring Elaine Tipton, DA Steve Wagstaffe, Douglas Horngrad, and Eileen Franklin.
This documentary recalls the crime of the century, when eight-year-old Susan Nason was raped and murdered in 1969. The series interviews those surrounding the crime and trial. The directors use archival news footage and clips from many interviews Eileen Franklin gave after the trial. The pacing and lack of backstory gets to the heart of the case. It’s also a case that was not widely known and seems new to us. The first episode brings us into Franklin’s life, and we find that her suppressed memories may bring the killer to justice. This series is worth a watch.
