Rushmore (1998) Rated R

A teenager at Rushmore Academy falls for one of his teachers but finds out she and his best friend are having an affair, so he begins a vendetta. Starring Jason Schwartzman, Bill Murray, and Olivia Williams.

This film is very much like other Wes Anderson films: it doesn’t make much sense. His films are more about character than story. This is true about Rushmore. The teenager’s character is strange, bizarre, and a stalker. The film is a bizarre meandering of a story that makes you wonder why the kid isn’t just considered crazy. There are Anderson films I’ve liked, Moonrise Kingdom and The Darjeeling Limited, but this is one that I feel walks too close to the crazy boundary. This is not worth a watch.
