Ghostbusters (2016) Rated PG-13

When a ghost infestation comes to Manhattan, a group of women bands together in order to stop the threat. Starring Zach Woods, Kristen Wiig, and Ed Begley Jr.

This is the female version of Ghostbusters, and we don’t need a female version of the 1980s film. There is no need. While the filmmakers tried to bring back the spark of the original film, they lost the heart. They bring together a group of comedian actresses, and while the original had some laughs, this really isn’t a humorous film. The comedians were the downfall to this remake, especially Kate McKinnon. I became so annoyed by her that I wanted to punch her. She wasn’t funny but stuck out like a sore thumb. And what’s the point of having a hunk for a receptionist?!? I mean, really. That’s just like saying Annie Potts was pointless in the original film. She was an asset to the original cast. By the way, she was a wonderful camo in the 2021 film. This film really did not help the franchise. It’s not worth the watch.
