A publicist gets a famous athlete, who hates Christmas, to save her family’s annual Christmas charity. Starring Cindy Busby, Sam Page, and Erin Boyes.
I love what the GAC is trying to do with Christmas films. They honor the tradition of these romance stories that started with Hallmark. However, Hallmark has stepped away from family traditional lifestyles, making it lose its momentum. This film has traditional family values but lacks in the writing. There are times when a character says or does something that isn’t a natural response to the situation. Busby and Page each tried to bring life and realism to their characters, but then you have the stilted performances by some of the minor characters. I also question the costume department; the dress that Holly wore to impress and shine was something from the 80s or 90s – no woman today would wear it. It was hideous, but her sister shined in her own dress. This film is not worth the watch.
