Collateral Beauty (2016) Rated PG-13

Retreating from life, a man asks Love, Time, and Death what is the meaning of life. Starring Will Smith, Edward Norton, and Kate Winslet.

This film tries to help point out that there is collateral beauty all round us while we love, as time passes and even into death. There is beauty around us, and Love, Time, and Death are all interconnected. While they try to make this deep connection, they struggle with trying to add humor. Yes, life has humor too, but I felt it’s more forced than just a relaxing look at life. The story has moments that are slow and unnecessary and others that that don’t show enough depth of character for us to care about them. The story, at times, seems all over the place and not very cohesive. It’s a film that would have been a beautiful story if the filmmakers had known where they were going. It’s a film that is not worth the watch.
