Fatal Attraction (1987) Rated R

A married man’s one night stand comes back to haunt him. Starring Michael Douglas, Glenn Close, and Anne Archer.

While I get that this film terrorizes men, I thought it was over-the-top, especially the ending. Although the main storyline of a man having an affair and the woman not letting go can be realistic, the ending just didn’t fit the logic of the rest of the film. Sure, we can believe that as a woman fixates on something or someone, she can go from loving to crazy to psychotic in minutes. We can actually see the transformation on screen thanks to Glenn Close. While I see the brilliance of the film, especially in the writing and the acting, I’m still a little surprised that everyone is in awe of the movie. Even with my reservations, I still say it’s worth the watch.
