A storm brings in a group of hungry creatures that are fighting to feed on the citizens in a small town. Based on the book by Stephen King. Starring Thomas Jane, Marcia Gay Harden, and Laurie Holden.
Frank Darabont, the screenwriter for this Stephen King book, often does a good job at bringing King’s book to life. This is no exception. Although, The Mist is not the most popular of King’s books. While the monster rages outside, there is a focus on the bad monster inside that takes the form of a religious zealot. While I get that they need different archetypes, the religious zealot doesn’t always come off as interesting or good, which is the character that Harden plays. While she has good points, she also goes crazy in her thought process. The caricatures of the story aren’t that annoying and the pacing isn’t bad for a horror film. Thus, the film is worth the watch.
