A thriller about a schoolteacher accusing a renowned surgeon of rape. Starring Joanne Froggatt, Ioan Gruffudd, and Zoë Tapper.
This series has an interesting premise. The BBC always does an excellent job at giving us a good story. While this show keeps you on your toes with its twist and turns, I’m over the woman accusing the man of rape for some other reason. It’s like screaming the sky is falling when it is not. You scream it enough times that it loses its luster. That’s what this show feels like. I’m not saying the performances are bad; I love Froggatt, and Gruffudd made me love him more. It’s just the story line seems over the top, and each turn doesn’t help. Plus, the police are portrayed as stupid, which is another cliche I’m bored with. The show just missed its prime. It’s not worth the watch.
