The Fall Guy (2024) Rated PG-13

A stunt guy comes back to work after an accident in search of a missing actor. Starring Ryan Gosling, Emily Blunt, and Aaron Taylor-Johnson.

This film is one that doesn’t take itself too seriously, and it works because it’s not meant to be a serious film. We have two people that work in the entertainment industry that care about each other but struggle with their own emotions. The chemistry between Gosling and Blunt is cute and believable. I think they are friends that just had fun playing the parts without getting too wrapped in the characters’ roles. In other words, they weren’t too big for these roles. Gosling’s character reminds me of others he has played, and even Blunt, at times, seems to take to her role like others she has portrayed. The film has action, but of course you know that Gosling isn’t doing the tricks, but his stunt double is. I may have missed it, but I would’ve liked to see a gag reel at the end with the stunt doubles of this film. This is one of those films that is perfect for a movie night. It’s worth the watch.
