A social misfit uses his pet rats to exact revenge on his enemies. This film is prequel to Ben. Starring Bruce Davison, Sondra Locke, and Elsa Lanchester.
This film is more weird than it is compelling. Davison is fine as a man who struggles being around people or interacting with them. His only friends are the rats, and soon they start obeying his commands. Ernest Borgnine is the perfect villain to counter Davison’s quietness. They don’t shoot the film as a thriller; it’s all done very quietly without much suspense. This film is campier than a thriller, and it should be more suspenseful than it is. I’m surprised it has a sequel. This is not worth the watch.
