Dust (2001) Rated R

A thief, an old woman, and two gunslinger brothers cross paths between three centuries and two continents. Starring Joseph Fiennes, David Wenham, and Adrian Lester.

The idea of the film is interesting and would be an intriguing plot, but the mixed up timelines is just confusing. As the story bounces between time, we lose momentum and the tension in the story. It doesn’t help that the storylines are so dofferent. We have the thief and old woman, and we have the two brothers. The differences in pacing and cinematography create a blunt change in the storytelling. It’s not only jarring and hard to follow but it also takes away from the individual stories, making this film not worth a watch.
