Sylvia Scarlett (1935)

Rated NR

Katherine Hepburn plays a young woman who dresses as a man to help her father sell stolen lace in britain. Along the way they team up with Cary Grant who happens to be a jewel thief. Which, of course, makes this a comedy. Based on The Early Life and Adventures of Sylvia Scarlett, a novel by Compton MacKenzie. Starring Katharine Hepburn, Cary Grant, Brian Aherne, Edmund Gwenn

The film is a cute comedy. I loved both Katherine Hepburn and Cary Grant’s performances. I was however, upset with the script. I was expecting one thing but they gave us  another thing and usually I love it when they throw in a wrench. This time I didn’t. It’ s overall,  a wonderful little comedy with two great actors.
