Frozen (2013) Rated PG

frozenInspired by the story “The Snow Queen” by Hans Christian Andersen. Anna goes looking for her sister, Elsa who happens to be the Snow Queen. Starring Kristen Bell, Idina Menzel, Jonathan Groff, Josh Gad, Alan Tudyk

I know lots of people loved Frozen and knowing that, might be causing some of my lack of love for this film. But I really don’t think the film is all that. Yes, it’s got the traditional romance from Disney and its great story telling. Wait, not really, I struggled with Elsa’s power. Why did she have them? How did she get it? How could the family not teach her how to use it and then…spoiler…how did she learn in the end to use them? Especially when it was so out of control. The romance is there if you can get pass the personality change in Hans. Which I saw from the beginning. I won’t go into the politically correctness of the woman being one that can change and save everyone. Or that women don’t need men. These aren’t false but they aren’t true either. So, to say this is one of the best Disney films in a long time, ah, I think not but it is a great film. With a great soundtrack. The best. The songs love to get stuck in your head.

This movie is one I won’t refuse to add to my Disney collection.
