Heaven Is For Real (2014) Rated PG

Heaven is for realBased on a true story of a boy who got to see heaven. Based on the book, Heaven is for Real by Todd Burpo. Starring Greg Kinnear, Kelly Reilly, Thomas Haden Church, Margo Martindale

This film I believe covered the book fairly well. It has a slow build to the story. I felt they included too much of the family’s tortured medical bills, we got it, they were broke that was explained with three jobs. We didn’t need to see that the father had  multiple medical issues. It was to out-of-place. They also did a good job at covering what Christians would think of someone who says they have seen Heaven. Even though this story is about a boy who gets to see heaven, it doesn’t cover the Christian perception of heaven, which I don’t think needed to be told but it did brush over the facts. Which makes us question whether Heaven is real. Well done filmmakers, well done.
