Seven Psychopaths (2012) Rated R

seven-psychopathsA screenwriter gets involved with gangsters when he and his friends kidnap the gangsters’ Shih Tzu. Starring Michael Pitt, Michael Stuhlbarg, Sam Rockwell, Colin Farrell, Abbie Cornish, Christopher Walken.

This is one of the better black comedies out there. It’s not the best, though. I really liked the film In Bruges; this movie doesn’t quite measure up. However, it does have it’s moments, making it enjoyable to watch.  The cast is brilliant; they make the dialogue come alive with their back and forth one-liners. Sometimes, though, I wondered what in the world I was watching. The absurdity of the story and the snappy dialogue worked for me, though; this movie is worth a watch.
