A young Jewish boy is asked to befriend a girl whose parents were killed by the Nazis.  Based on the book by Myron Levoy. Starring Lukas Haas, Vanessa Zaoui, Michael Gross.

This is a great family film about a girl who is struggling to deal with her grief and come out of her shell. The parents of a neighboring boy encourage him to befriend her, but at first drags his feet. Eventually, they begin to develop a friendship, and she is able to open up. There is nothing overly sweet or unrealistic about this film; it is very well written, and the young actors Haas and Zaoui are brilliant as they attempt to navigate the world they now live in together. This film is worth a watch.
