The Disaster Artist (2017) Rated R

Greg Sestero, an aspiring actor, meets mysterious Tommy Wiseau in an acting class. They become fast friends, each aspiring to make a film. Based on the book, The Disaster Artist: My Life Inside The Room, the Greatest Bad Movie Ever Made by Greg Sestero. Starring Dave Franco, James Franco, and Seth Rogen.

The film brings the relationship of Sestero and Wiseau to life as they try to get work in the film business and alternately film their own movie, The Room.  Wiseau is a character himself, and his personality often repels others. James Franco brings Wiseau to life and also brings Wiseau’s personality into The Disaster Artist; at times you think he’s making fun of the guy, but then you realize that is the guy. I would say the film is interesting, I’m not sure if I enjoyed Franco’s reinterpretation of the making of the film The Room, but it does make for an entertaining watch. This one is worth a watch.
