Elway to Marino (2013) Rated TV-G

In the spring of 1983, six quarterbacks are selected in the first round of drafts, the most ever with Elway, the first, to Marino, the sixth. Starring Tom Selleck, Ernie Accorsi, and Bruce Allen.

This documentary covers the 1983 draft as it gave us the Hall of Famers, the quarterbacks, the melodrama, and the soap opera. It was the draft that changed history. Elway was first selected to play for the Baltimore Colts, but he refused to play for them. The documentary covers the behind-the-scenes talks to trade him to another team. The documentary tells us all the drama that happened during this draft season. The film has a great story that surrounds the event, but alas it doesn’t come together smoothly. I just wasn’t pulled in or on “pins and needles” waiting to see who goes where. Maybe it’s because it’s thirty some odd years later and we know the outcome. This film doesn’t make it worth watching again. It’s not worth it.
