Inventing the Abbotts (1997) Rated R

Two working-class brothers court three wealthy sisters. Starring Joaquin Phoenix, Billy Crudup, and Will Patton.

This is a coming of age film set in 1957-1960 as two young men vie for the attentions of the three girls from a wealthy family. The film is not the best movie. We get only a glimpse into the lives of these five teens. There is nothing about the film that makes it stand out. The casting proves to be interesting as the film has a pretty good lineup; some are great to watch, and others lack chemistry. The film is very slow-paced and long. Add in the boring performances by some of the cast, and this film is not worth a watch.
