Death Comes to Pemberley (2013) Rated TV-14

Darcy and Elizabeth have been married six years, and when they start preparing for their annual ball, it is interrupted by death. Based on the book by P.D. James. Starring Matthew Rhys, Anna Maxwell Martin, and Matthew Goode.

I was rather surprised by this film. The author stuck with the characters and tone of Jane Austen. The actors also really understood their characters. The story is something I could imagine the Darcy family going through after being married for a few years. Of course, there were some historical discrepancies, but the author is a 20th-century writer. I wasn’t sure that I would love the mystery aspect of the film, but it was subtle and not overpowering. I thought the film was brilliantly cast with a good story. This film is worth a watch.
