Steel Magnolias (1989) Rated PG

A young beautician moves to a small town, and her salon becomes a place where the women form friendships. Based on a play by Robert Harling. Starring Sally Field, Dolly Parton, and Shirley MacLaine.

This film is a brilliant take on women whose lives are as precious as magnolia’s and as hard as steel. The film is not only based on the play but also the playwright’s life. The film brings to light the southern life of women but also the life of women in general. The brilliant cast of women is what brings this story to life. This film doesn’t just bring the laughter, it also brings the tears of life. This film is worth a watch.
