Prime Suspect 3 (1993) Rated NR

Detective Chief Inspector Jane Tennison is assigned to Vice Squad in the third series of Prime Suspect. She investigates a child murder and its link to the police. Starring Helen Mirren, Tom Bell, and Karen Tomlin.

This series continues the story of Tennison as she investigates a murder of a young man who happens to be a rent boy. This series dives into the world of sexploitation. It’s brilliantly acted by Peter Capaldi, who plays a cross-dresser; David Thewlis who plays the suspect; and Ciarán Hinds, who runs a boys’ home. Each one was brilliant, and each deserves an award. Prime Suspect continues to highlight the controversies of the times. In the first season, it was gender equality, and in the second season, it was racism. This series also brings back Tom Bell as Tennison continues to look into police misconduct. It’s a gritty and engaging show that’s worth a watch.
