Rebellion (2016) Rated TV-MA

This miniseries follows a group of fictional characters who lived through the political events of the 1916 Easter Rebellion. Starring Michael Ford-FitzGerald, Jaelynne Wallace Ruane, and Jordanne Jones.

This film is a wonderful telling of the Irish independence. It’s a fictional story with historical facts in the background. That’s due to a licensing of characters. The miniseries brings to life how and why the rebellion happened and the people who helped make it happen as well as those that live on the outskirts of the rebellion. I have Irish ancestry and I’m also a proud American; I felt the anger and the need to push back at the British. I am so proud of the Irish that worked to gain independence from Britain. Of course, due to the licensing issues, the miniseries didn’t go into detail about the rebellion, but it still gives us an inside look at what happened. It’s worth a watch.
